HOLY CRAP! I can't believe this picture! A friend of ours is a professional photographer and she offered to take pictures of Ruby to use in her newest promo going out soon. We thought "what the hay! why not!" We are seriously thinking of getting her into modeling SOON!

Okay... I just got back from my 20th High School Reunion... HAD A BLAST! No regrets!!! LOVED IT! The highlight? EVERYTHING. I saw so many old friends. Because I do not live anywhere near where I went to high school, I rarely see those people, much less hear them.
Here's a shot of my core "crew" in high school... we actually took an identical picture like this on graduation day in 1986. I'll post the old one soon... it's funny to see them side by side.

Right now... my 10 year old is playing me his version of the Mickey Mouse Club March on the TUBA (WoW!) which he has mastered (I use that term loosely!) this year as a 4th Grader... Funny. Ever seen any of the Veggie Tales videos? Ya know how the intro goes... at the beginning when the tuba sound starts it all off... THAT'S what I am hearing right now... pretty funny... except when theose sour notes hit... OUCH! Makes your eyes squint a bit! :-) ANd then, it is a REAL sight when you see him doing all this in his underwear... funny! REVEILLE ROCK is the new song of the moment! :-)

I guess this is what a week of "roughing it" will do for you. Ruby looks so bad that she refuses to show her mug to anyone! :-)
We spent the week of spring break in my high school friend's cabin (and I DO use that term loosely - it's a GORGEOUS house!) outside of Breckenridge. Life at 11,500 feet sure is fun... for a week... but not all the time.

Okay... a bit of drama yesterday and today in the Boswell household.

Last night, around 6:30pm, Katie took the kids to the park (warm Spring day in Colorado!). Within 5 minutes of being at the park, my almost 9 year old ACCIDENTALLY throws a good-sized rock HARD and FAST into the air, striking my wife in the temple area of her head, This sends her immediately to the ground for a quick black-out, and then extreme, excruciating pain. So, needless to say, we all BOLT for the ER... I call a friend to meet us there to take kids home (which she did--thank you Sallie Mann!) and then Katie and I proceed to go through the LONGEST ER experience of out lives. Ugh! We were there until 2:30am. They did CAT scans... which, thankfully, showed no signs of brain trauma or bleeding. So that was a "WHEW!" moment. But it was a frightening and painstakingly long day.

Angels standing around my wife? Probably? Definitely angels standing around my 3 year old and 10 year old, as they could have easily been the ones hit instead of Katie. Did she take one for the team? Kinda. If this would've happened to one of the other kids, it clearly would've killed them or caused serious damage. This happening to an adult was a blessing in disguise. Thanks for taking it like a trooper Katie.

I love you, my sweets. Get better soon.

Today, one year ago, we left for Ixtapa, Mexico. MAN! What an AMAZING trip. Little did we know, that trip was the start of SO many good things in our life.

It's interesting when that happens isn't it? It's funny when people in life THINK that they are screwing you and doing something awful to you... but in reality, they are doing you a HUGE favor and it all turns out wonderfully.

That's Just The Way It Is . . .

Alright... so I've got my office completely painted. I, of course, didn't do a damn thing. My wife painted the whole thing and did an AWESOME job to boot. I owe her big time.

I ordered some really cool new furniture from a site called www.WESTELM.com. This is VERY cool stuff. ANd very affordable. Check out their stuff. It's Pier One (simplicity) meets Design Within Reach (individuality) meets Target (affordability). Especially their SALE stuff.

Ya know when you do something really good... in spite of the assholes of the world saying that you'll NEVER do anything... ya know that feeling? That's where I'm at right now. There are a bunch of assholes that thought they'd keep me down by doing something rotten to me... and all it did was make me stronger, better, smarter. It DIDN'T, however, make me bitter. I'm not built that way. So the best revenge for me was to smile, keep walking... and then just before you're out of their sight, flash 'em a big, fat, middle finger.... and never look back.
